VIVAMAYR Medical Health Resort

My stay at the Vivamayr Maria Wörth wellness clinic was overall a very positive experience, particularly thanks to the excellent medical care. The clinic is well equipped and clearly aligned with the lifestyle and health philosophy it promotes. The medical staff are kind, attentive, and very supportive throughout the program. A special mention goes to the lead physician, who is truly exceptional. He combines deep knowledge of the human body, nutrition, metabolism, and lifestyle medicine with a very personable and thoughtful approach. His guidance and consultations were among the most valuable aspects of my stay. The accommodations are comfortable, though perhaps slightly on the expensive side, and the spa area feels somewhat secondary, with facilities such as the pool and saunas located on different floors. I did experience a small issue with the reservation process. Communication seems to combine manual emails with an automated booking interface, and in my case this appears to have led to a misunderstanding regarding the room category. I had intended to reserve a Viva Suite, but on arrival I was assigned a higher-category room and only became aware of the difference at checkout. While this may have resulted from an internal interpretation of the booking request, the matter unfortunately could not be clarified at the time. Despite this inconvenience, the quality of the medical program, the professionalism of the clinic team, and the expertise of the lead physician made the stay worthwhile overall.

Very quiet and cosy place with great service.

Nice place. Life is calmer here than on the other side. Good hiking/walking routes start there.

We have visited this place 3 times, and each time, the price went higher and higher. From the medical visits, to the treatments, from the supplements to every aspect, it feels like a money machine. I recall during each of our visits, when my partner was ill, they would not even quote us a price and filled the agenda with hydrobaths, foot electro baths, and massages and we had difficulty getting to know what the entire stay would cost. They would charge for people who would accompany a patient as well at a high price (as prices are charged per person and not per room). Even for supplements, and so many were prescribed - my partner was prescribed 27 tablets / day to be purchased from them - and we felt we had nowhere to go. Since then, the prices have gone up and up and we can buy most things on line at much cheaper prices or from other clinics. Even they highly promoted Basenpulver V was 23 euros in 2019 and now it is 36.80, and the same can be assembled in a pharmacy for under 20 Euros. That is hyperinflation. There was no lump sum package available pre Covid where one could zero in on how much a visit would really cost. Other clinics charge Euros 4,400 a week or thereabouts but we found ourselves paying substantially more. Several friends who were regulars like us at Viva Mayr, including the one who introduced us, said in hers and our opinion that it is not longer affordable. I suppose there is a super rich class of people but for those of us who really did like the experience, it is unfortunate that the prices have risen so much that it has become beyond our price level. It is fortunate for us and our friends that there are so many wonderful medi-clinics not only in Europe but also in Asia that offer the equivalent and oftentimes a better quality of product and service for prices which are far more within our reach and where we feel we actually benefited rather than felt completely out of pocket without a commensurate health benefit value.
