About the clinic

About

Osler Health is a Singapore-based medical practice founded on the belief that healthcare should focus not only on treating illness but also on preventing disease and promoting long-term vitality. Named after Sir William Osler, one of the founders of modern medicine, the clinic integrates traditional family medicine with lifestyle medicine and longevity science to deliver highly personalized healthcare. At the heart of Osler Health's philosophy is the concept of healthy longevity. Its physician-led programs begin with a comprehensive Health & Longevity Assessment that evaluates biological age, genetics, biomarkers, lifestyle factors, and risk profiles. Using the six pillars of lifestyle medicine—nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoidance of harmful substances—Osler physicians create individualized plans aimed at preventing chronic disease and optimizing healthspan. Unlike many longevity clinics that offer one-off packages, Osler emphasizes continuous partnership between patient and physician. Through a multidisciplinary network of nutritionists, trainers, psychologists, and health coaches, patients receive ongoing support tailored to their changing health goals. Additional programs include gut health, weight management, health coaching, smoking cessation, and longevity testing. By combining premium primary care with preventive medicine and personalized wellness strategies, Osler Health aims to help patients not only live longer but maintain optimal physical, mental, and metabolic health throughout life.

Osler Health at Raffles is a wonderful medical practice. Dr Foong and all the staff are extremely professional and attentive. Their level of service is beyond the typical healthcare centre with a lot of additional touches that really make a difference. I would highly recommend.

This clinic is located on the second floor of the Raffles Hotel Arcade, quietly tucked inside the beautiful colonial-style Raffles Hotel building. The clinic itself is very elegant, calm, and spotless. The whole place has that “peaceful and refined” atmosphere that makes you feel like you should probably speak a little more softly than usual. The clinic has an excellent reputation and many glowing reviews, so naturally I had high expectations that they might be able to help with my issue. The first phone call with the clinic was actually very pleasant. The staff were polite and helpful. However, the clinic seems to be extremely popular — or perhaps extremely busy. In my case, the earliest appointment available was three months after my first phone call. So if you have something urgent, this might not be the place. Patience is definitely required. Then, about a week or two before my long-awaited appointment, the clinic called again to let me know that the doctor would be away and asked if I could reschedule. After waiting three months already, being asked to wait even longer did give me a bit of a “really?” moment. But at that point I figured, well, after three months, what’s another few weeks? So the appointment ended up being pushed back almost another month. By the time the consultation day finally arrived, I had already entered the philosophical stage of acceptance: “Maybe this is just one of those things in life.” On the day of the visit, I filled out several forms and then a nurse took some basic measurements. Interestingly, this was done at what looked more like a bar-style high table rather than a traditional clinic counter. For a moment I almost felt like I should order a cocktail instead of discussing medical issues. Personally, I didn’t find that setup particularly comfortable. The consultation itself was quite long — about an hour. The doctor listened carefully and offered several suggestions. However, to be honest, the overall feeling was closer to a counseling session than a typical medical examination. After the appointment, the doctor kindly emailed several links explaining my symptoms in more detail, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the links didn’t open on my side, so I wasn’t able to read them. I actually felt a bit bad about that because the doctor clearly took the time to send them. In the end, my problem wasn’t really resolved during the visit. The doctor recommended several tests and explained that proper advice would depend on those results. While that makes sense medically, the tests would require quite a lot of time and money. Since my issue wasn’t something I wanted to investigate that extensively, I decided not to pursue further visits. It’s also worth mentioning that the consultation fee and medication were quite expensive. That said, if you are looking for a doctor who will spend a long time listening and possibly work with you over a longer period of time, this clinic may be a good fit. However, for someone like me who was hoping for more immediate advice for a long-standing symptom, continuing treatment here would have been difficult both financially and time-wise. The doctor and reception staff were friendly overall. The nurse assisting me seemed a little inexperienced, but that may simply come with time.

Dr Chiu was able to see me very quickly, offer me realistic and practical advice on a foot sprain, as well as quickly refer me for a boot fitting, so that I can salvage my vacation by being more mobile. He quickly judged the severity of my situation (low) and prescribed a situation that would limit damage, while allowing me to return to a reasonable amount of activity. Many Thanks!
